Prayer, Peace & Prosperity...2010
What a good feeling it is to look ahead at this upcoming year and know that this will be a special year. How good it feels to say to the world, “God is the source for all of my good”, and in 2010 claim Peace and Prosperity in all affairs, knowing that “God IS”.
Hello my good friends. I wanted to begin this article with that inspira-tional thought. This year as we flow into this era of new beginnings it is very important that we enter into this New Year with an affirming consciousness knowing that whatever we declare in our mind and heart will manifest itself in our lives.
2010 will be a year where individuals will be reinventing themselves or remaking themselves, and redefining themselves. It will be a year where many of us will be challenged to hold firm to our faith and truth in spiritual principles, Spiritual Laws that govern our being.
It will not be a year where you can sit on the fence of life questioning the value of your spiritual presence, or Truth. This year we are being called to affirm that Presence of God which abides within us as an infinite, unlimited, omnipotent energy that flows within us as our divine source of life.
This will not be a year where you can let “lack” be the foundation of your thought, or “FEAR” the focus of your attention. Please remember that the thoughts that you hold within your mind will become the seeds of your manifestation. See yourself as a farmer and know that whatever seeds you plant will grow into your reality, and that the attentiveness and vision you surround those thoughts with will be like the rain and sun that nurtures the growth of those thoughts into their manifested reality. So if you are planting seeds of fear over this economy or your ability to find a job, you will in fact be bringing forth seeds of limitation.
We have the opportunity this year to demonstrate our God-ability, our Oneness with those principles of Christ in all of our affairs. And it begins when we affirm that the “Father and I are One”, this basic foundation of Truth. If we bring that thought into our consciousness into this New Year as a rebirthing within ourselves, 2010 will become a magnificent manifestation and demonstration of prosperity and peace within our lives. We will be planting seeds of new beginnings that will lead to a harvest of unlimited ideas, unbounded vision, with an inner richness of unlimited potential. This can be that year, so let us affirm this invocation by Charles Filmore:
Happy New Year,I am now in the presence of pure Being and immersed in the Holy Spirit of life, love, and wisdom. I acknowledge Thy presence and Thy power, O blessed Spirit. In Thy divine wisdom now erase my mortal limitations, and from Thy pure substance of love bring into manifestation my world, according to Thy perfect law.

A Message From Your Board President
What a wonderful time of year. The Christ in me gets to meet the Christ in you. A time for new beginnings. A time to reflect on what we want new in our lives, or just to continue in the way we lived last year. Like Prayer, Peace and Prosperity. Wouldn't it be great to go all day giving thanks to our Creator. Not worring about what we can get from God, but just wanting to Give Thanks in Prayer for everything that happens during the day. What Peace this would bring to my life and by having this connection. I would be filled with so much Prosperity. I can give with love & joy, instead of because I have to. Knowing all good will be returned to me ten fold and more, because I am a Prayerful, Peaceful and Prosperous Child of God. I see a great year for everyone involved in this church—And...
I Love You All,

Treasurer's Report
When elected Treasurer, a learning curve was anticipated and at that date, free time did not appear to be a problem, however shortly thereafter a job opportunity occurred and my schedule became extremely crowded. This problem appears to have been solved by sharing the workload with others who are experts in various areas. Church finances continue to be of critical concern, especially with the monthly mortgage being in excess of $2400 and increased utility costs during the winter months. While the last Charity Poker event was quite successful, there will not be another until sometime in the summer. New forms have been created to ensure that proper documentation is on file for donations and expenses. The plan is to put in place some aspects of the Dave Ramsey material and develop additional reports to keep all informed of the churches financial position. Please feel free to contact me at any time with your suggestions and thoughts.
Thank you for your support during this transition period.

Unity Bookstore
Changes are in store for your Unity of Lake Orion Bookstore. At the most recent Unity Builders Meeting, the Book-store committee reported their goals for 2010 and beyond. We plan to improve the overall appearance of the store (a process that has already begun), expand our offering of “gift” items, and add more display cases. We plan to do this at little or no expense to the church. Our mission is to have a store that will offer books, CD’s and gift items that will satisfy all of our spiritual needs. Before the end of the year, we hope that members or visitors will say of our church, “And it has the best little book store – you really need to pay it a visit!”
We will be looking for additional bookcases, a display case for gift items, and individual display stands for books and gifts. We could use your help locating some of these items. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. Also, please let us know what kind of items you would like to see in your bookstore.
In the meantime, please continue to visit the bookstore to check out new titles and gift offerings. Remember, any purchase you make helps support the church.

Men of Unity
Winter is upon us and the snow is falling as I write. Our church is growing and that is wonderful. But the men's group is about the same size as last year. We want to bring more men into the group, so don't be surprised if you are asked by one of us to come to our next meeting. Our regular monthly meetings are always the first Thursday of the month. We have a great time and the discussions are informative, spiritually uplifting, and fun, all at the same time!
Alas, golf season has ended. We were able to golf all the way through November this year, and for that we are grateful. Our first monthly bowling outing will be held the third Thursday in January, so please watch for the sign-up sheets in the hallway.
Helen and I will be leaving for Florida at the end of the month. Paul Ferman will take on the leadership of the men's group while I am away.
Have a blessed New Year!
Blessings,
Jerry Crossman

A real sparkler in our congregation. Jennifer hosted the games for the WOS Christmas party. She has brough laughter, joy and color to the platform on Sunday and during talent nights. We are blessed that you’ve chosen ULO as your church.
