The Power for October: Zeal

The Power for this month is represented by the disciple Simon, the Zealot. The coordinating colour is orange and its location in the physical body is at the base of the brain (the medulla).

Affirmation:
"My Zeal is tempered with Wisdom and I maintain a perfect balance within and without."

Zeal is the faculty of enthusiasm, intensity and exuberance. It provides our inner urge to progress; it is our motivation to achieve.

The highest expression of Zeal is an unflagging, fervent interest in knowing, speaking and doing good. Understanding and wisdom help to temper Zeal so that its enthusiasm and intensity are directed to grow spiritually and do God’s will.

To be without Zeal is to be without the zest of living. Turn a portion of your Zeal to do God’s will, to the establishing of the kingdom within you. Do not let Zeal run away with your judgment. When Zeal and judgment work together, great things can be accomplished.

Our disciples will do what we tell them and continue to do it after they have been sufficiently instructed and assisted in the use of the Word. Remember the mind rules both the within and the without, the visible and the invisible.

To help Simon the Zealot do his work, center your attention for a moment at the base of your brain and quietly affirm that infinite energy and intelligence are pouring forth in Zeal.
